Soldier Beetle

Another beautiful , warm summer day which we spent in the garden working. Strange how working had in the garden is so relaxing. later in the afternoon i watched various insects around the pond , pairs of damsel flies, lots of bee type creatures but it was this wee soldier beetle hanging on at the top of a reed in the pond who caught my eye for tonight's blip, such a comical looking charcter which I just had to share with You.

Large might be worth a look , he looks as ifhe is wearing a soldier's jacket from the 1800s.
