We can be Heroes just for one day . . David Bowie
I thought I would add the other Chorus Box that is the partner to the one I blipped on Saturday 12th September. This one is to remember Flying Officer Lloyd Allan Trigg who came from Houhora which is a very tiny place in the north of New Zealand. He was based in west Africa and flew convoy escorts and anti submarine duties. He got a Victoria Cross posthumously because of the evidence provided by the enemy. Trigg continued dropping depth charges on a U-boat even though his plane was on fire. The U-boat sank but some of it's crew were rescued the next day by the Royal Navy and they told of Trigg's bravery under fire.
He was 29 and married.
The box sits in front of a screen of native trees and it is a peaceful place.
