A Stage With A View!
End Of The Road Festival - Day 4
We packed up our campsite this morning and loaded up the car so we could head home after the last band finished. Better than packing up tomorrow morning and fighting with weekday morning traffic for 2.5 hours.
Bands we saw today:
1. Hinds (pictured)
2. The Delines
3. Dawes
4. Giant Sand
5. Julie Byrne
6. Brakes
7. The War On Drugs
It was the best weather day we had. Aside from a few very minor showers it had been dry all weekend but overcast and therefore chilly. However today there was a perfect blue sky and the sun was warming which was lovely.
We took advantage of the rise in temperature by having ourselves a little lie down in front of the Woods (main) stage whilst Dawes were playing. I was starting to feel the pace by day 4, mainly from carrying my 5dII and 70-200 lens around for past 3 days.
At 17:00 I took myself off to the food stall area and occupied a corner of a bench for the next 90 mins as I play Fantasy Football gridiron style and unfortunately our league manager had chosen today as the date for our draft. Fortunately a decent wifi signal (every forest should have one) meant I was able to complete my draft successfully and return to meet Dom and catch the end of the Giant Sand set.
After final headliner, The War On Drugs finished, Dom and I made a beeline for the car park. There were a few others with the same idea but nothing like the chaos it will be tomorrow and we were on the road in no time.
Decent, traffic free journey home via Fleet Services and dropping Dom in North London. Did a little unpacking and in bed by 4am! Thankful I don't have to get up in the morning!
"End Of The Road Festival, it has been emotional. We will be back soon.
P.S. Happy 10th Birthday"
