Year Three

Heading home

Finished. This is it, 3 months working and I'm done. Really cannot believe it as time has just flown by this year.

Long day though. Was off the mountain by about 6am, in Milan by 10am, at the airport 11am, so early I had to sit around 2 hours before I could check in, finally allowed to check in and my 4pm flight finally took off at 630pm.

Got an hour back in the UK, so landed at 730ish, was in the hire car at 800m and that's when I noticed the smashed screen on my laptop. Yeah yeah, checked in luggage...but it was in a professional bag, and I had more important things like 3 hard drives with my masters on my carry on. Looks like someone either threw the bag to the ground really heavily or threw something on top very heavy as the case is dented from underneath from the camera hot shoe (1" of padding!), and the screen is smashed in from the other side.

Oh well. Half a mind to find a hotel but carried on to Devon anyway.

Not a huge fan of the UK much these days. 15 miles of 50mph speed cameras on the M3 where they are doing nothing, and what they do is behind huge concrete barriers, then another 5 miles of 50mph average speed limits a few miles later, and then for good measure another 10 miles of 50mph average speed cameras at the A303 exit.

Seriously - why do people put up with this shit?

Made Devon by 1130. Not a speed limit kept to.
