In preperation

We have a gage tree in the garden, probably a Cambridge Gage, we aren't sure as it came with the house. I rather like green gage plums and green gage jam. Our tree is typical of plums and gages, we get good crops every so often, this year has been rather productive...

When we returned from holiday my better half started to collect fruit - it comes into fruit when we are often on holiday... She continued to collect fruit, they are are little tart to eat off the treat but they have good flavour, and after work I turned about 1.7 kg of them into jam. Today's back-blip is the halved and de-stoned plums sitting in a jam pan of boiling sugar.
