Happy days!
Today an old school friend visited me from Dubai where she is currently living! We sat and reminisced about out time at St Hilda's, and those names we could remember from our time there.
Sadly the school is no longer having shut in 1974, but many of the old girls still keep in touch and this book was produced a few years ago, which is just wonderful. Although I was only there for 6 years it was probably the most influential school I attended, but not the best academically! The values it taught me and how to work with people has stayed with me all my life and provided an excellent frame work. I know it seems very unfashionable to be respectful and polite, but I still try to be this to people I deal with and encounter in my life!
However like so many of these old fashioned institutions it eventually fell foul of health and safety with regards to the fabric of the building and was not Ofsted geared up! And so like so many it became unviable in the 70's. It's a shame really as there should always be a place for a school that will take anyone regardless of academic ability or background and try to make their lives more successful.
Farming- Another Rusty free day , so Joshy and Tom P on the compost hauling.
Mr Tbay had another concentrated office day dealing with customers and tractor sales reps. His reward tonight is a game of skittles along with Mr Tbay Jnr!
