Penstemon in the rain
I'd hoped that the weather might get brighter as the day progressed. Then I could go out with my camera for a short blipping jaunt after doing some office work this afternoon at the town council offices, followed by a bit of food shopping.
But the light dimmed progressively under the increasing cloud cover and then the rain set in. By the time I'd come home it was pouring down and hasn't stopped. So I grabbed Helena's waterproof jacket off the peg, mounted a macro lens and stepped outside the back door.
Helena blipped this penstemon a couple of days ago and I am following suit. I thought I might catch catch some drips but the intensity of the rain was knocking them off the flowers before they could accumulate. I spent about two minutes in the rain and the camera and lens didn't protest, so this is a moment to appreciate the quality of the 'L' series and their waterproofing!
I have added an 'Extra photo' of a penstemon flower fully open as they are delightful and should be appreciated.
