Conkers!

It's that time of the year again, conkers on the trees are a delight for children but they make such a mess of the garden.

Heavy rain was forecast all day but it only came in at about noon, so I enjoyed a dog walk in dry weather this morning. I read a report that we are in for a very cold winter due to the strongest El Nino since 1950. Last winter was so mild, I wonder if this forecast is correct?

I have book club tonight, but before I go we have a few of Adam's friends coming around for drinks and food before they head up to London to a 'Welcome to Cambridge' pre-arrival event. I think burgers should do the trick for the hungry lads.
