Drying Off!

My friendly kookaburra, Larry, was here for breakfast this morning, and when he'd had his fill, he popped down to the swimming pool for a few dive-bombs into the water!

When "bath time" was over, he flew up into the bare branches of next doors Jacaranda Tree, (why it's bare at this time of year, I really don't know, it should be in full bloom by now) to dry off. I took a series of photos of him, flipping, wiggling and scratching, some of which were a tad blurred, what with all of his twisting and flapping. I chose this one as his wings look poised for flight, all fluffed out and beautiful.

So for Larry, it was a free breakfast, bath and blow dry ~ it's gotta be a birds life. ;)
