a close encounter
I've been stuck in the garden office all day - but I'm very nearly caught up with emails etc & can now start to make a plan for what needs to be done over the next few weeks. I've even started to plan out some winter fun.
I've promised to keep an eye on next door now that they've moved out - so not wanting to Blip the computer screen I thought I'd kill three birds with one stone and check up on the property (fine) stretch my legs (no pooch) and look for a Blip.
My initial thoughts were that I'd grab a view of the Howgills from the top of the wood - but as I approached the boundary my eye caught some movement, I thought it would be a rabbit - but creeping forward I got very close to this lovely lady*. I managed to grab a couple of shots, of which this was the best, and then she startled and was off - merging all to easily into the undergrowth and more than capable of clearing the 5ft wall around the woods.
* I think she's a young red deer - if so that a first for me around here, although there's quite a large population across near Haweswater.
