Flying high

I took the dogs for an early walk over the common today and as a result we saw a few of the '8 o'clock crowd', a hardy breed of people we very rarely encounter. It was somewhat wet following the overnight downpours and the changing weather of late has brought about all manner of fungi, including this pair of Fly agaric beneath a gorse bush.

In other news, I took my camera into work this afternoon, hoping to catch the Battle of Britain Day Flypast but if they did go over Haslemere it must have been when I was on the phone to the Help Desk with today's IT issue. However, a few seconds after I got home just now five of the planes flew over the house so I did get to see it after all (and Son2, who had got home just before me, saw it for the second time, the first being at college earlier).
