Knysna and even More Bubbles!
The weather had taken a bit of a turn on Monday but that wasn't too much of a problem as we were planning to spend the day driving from Cape Town to Knysna where we had booked into a guesthouse for a couple of nights.
The drive was pretty interesting, not to be repetitive but the scenery is amazing and the drive for the most part is incredibly beautiful.
There is a downside along some areas of the route that we noticed which was the vast areas of shanty towns and it does remind you that in amongst the beautiful scenery and lovely cities there is still a lot of poverty in the country.
We hit some roadworks on the way and unlike the UK where there are just reduced lanes the road actually completely disappeared for miles! At one point we were not quite sure if we were supposed to be on the route but just stuck with it and we eventually found the road again.
We also stopped at Hermanus on the way to see if we could spot some whales and I got a glimpse but just a teeny one.
The end of the drive was in the dark so it did get pretty tough going on poor Steve but we eventually got to Knysna at about 730pm and found more sparkling wine and chocolate dipped strawberries in our room - it was a beautiful guesthouse called Villa Afrikana and we were made to feel very very welcome.
We had a lazy evening (another one?!?!) and enjoyed the sparkling wine. I had a bit of a dodgy stomach so it wasn't hardship to skip dinner and we just chilled out watching "The Wolf of Wall Street".
