Rosa Rugosa Hips

A while ago I saw a post on FB Blipfotofriends disparaging people who dashed into their gardens and blipped a flower in an emergency. He wasn't someone I knew and I thought it was sour grapes, but still I held off blipping flowers, emergency or not, till now. This afternoon I thought there are amazing autumn colours about, and not just in flowers, so I've gone back to blipping our lovely natural world which I love. So there, Mr A. Grouch!

Afterthought: To prove  my point, look at the hundreds and thousands of flower related poems on the internet.

Rosa Rugosa

Thorned temptress
dressed in a shift of dusty pink,
wide-eyed Irish rose
rambling, reaching
for the weathered fence,
speak to me about love
and music.

Emblem of the erotic,
you represent romance
and tenderness, yet
you will not be touched,
you nick us with
your spiny canes
when we reach for you.
