Sticky

My new friend Sticky who was placed in my hands by a colleague as she had to rush off to a meeting. I thought he was a gonner in that it looked like he was bunged up with chewing gum, his claws and head were stuck together and he was covered in muck and gravel like a giant caddis fly larva. I started to snip at the sticky stuff and thought that I'd nipped him, but then was relieved to find the stuff was a red jelly sweet that he'd obviously taken a fancy to, but the heat was so great today it had turned into a revolting mass of glue. There didn't seem to be much of a clue in its head there about how to wash itself, so I had to do it for him. I was rewarded with a very firm grip from his beak. He won't have any problems feeding with that bite! Hopefully he's dry and safe now poor little fella. Keep safe Sticky! There's a cat lying across my legs right now who would have got stuck in if he'd found you.

Otherwise, a few tears from some students who are leaving and the power down is about to start. It's bloomin hot (and sticky) though!
