In honour of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 1859 - 1930
Our Susan took to the streets today to photograph some key literary hotspots. And today being International Short Story Day, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle being both Edinburgh born and renowned for his Sherlock Holmes stories, we have chosen his plaque as today's blip. Located at Teviot Place, it marks that he was a medical graduate of the University of Edinburgh.
In timely Short Story Day fashion, we've also announced the writers who'll be participating in this year's Story Shop at the Edinburgh International Book Festival. Story Shop is now in its fifth year of celebrating the short story in all its compact beauty, with 17 readers for each day of the festival. We can't wait!
