Lurid bolete
This afternoon I found a lovely example of Boletus luridus, a spectacularly coloured fungus that grows in calcareous grassland on the edge of woodland. Not only does it have a bright yellow/orange stipe partially covered by a red net, it also displays dark blue discolouring when the cap is cut or torn. A completely appropriately named toadstool.
