Too noisy

This is poor Noo objecting to the arrival of the Red Arrows at the end of today's Great North Run. He hates the noise! I spent the entire display shielding his ears....

It's been an emotional day for some! I only really do the GNR because it's the one and only event my sister does. It's a tiring and expensive weekend for us, and we've had to leave poor ZQ behind this year as he cant miss school. So.......I was pretty miffed when my sister announced that she wasn't going to do it due to lack of fitness. To cut a long story short, she did decide to do it........this morning!!!! She also finished, but spent a long time in a medical tent packed in ice! She was placed on the "bus of doom" to get to the finish, but GOT OFF to walk to the finish with a man called Darren who was dressed as a fairy! Meanwhile, we are all organising a search and rescue party in South Shields....

As for me - I love the build up, spending time with my sister before and after the race, the stories of courage and bravery, the incredible support, and the masses of money raised for good causes. However, after 14 years, I hate the course.........except for the last 2 miles! I start to look forward to seeing GravyC at mile 12, and the last mile along the seafront is always an experience worth having!!

Glad we are all in one piece! Easy day tomorrow...
