Double Avro

Coventry, Baginton,  today for the Farewell to Flight for Avro Vulcan XH558 organised by the club (Vulcan to the Sky Club) and hosted by the Classic Air Force, a collection of aircraft most of which were used by the Royal Air Force and a good few of which are flying.

We had flying displays from Venom, Meteor NF11, Auster, DH Hornet Moth, and taxying by WR963 after her last taxi approx 18 months ago.
It is hoped to have WR963 Avro Shackleton MR2 into the air in about 2 years. That will be a site to behold. shame it's not in time for Avro Vulcan XH558 and the Avro Lancaster (of the BBMF) to all fly together but lets be happy for what we have had. XH558 has been flying again since 2007, not bad for an aircraft that is over 50 years old.

By the way, the weather was so good for a day out, not too hot, cloudy so not too bright, a great day for the bike. 140 mile round trip of great riding. Extra shot is the bike last night all got ready for the off at 0800 this morning.
