Menorca - Day 8: Cala Pregonda Panorama

MUCH better in large.
Back blip

I took several panoramas in Menorca, but they don't seem to work all that well on blip. I hope that this looks OK, because it is a stunning bay. Here it is on Flickr, in case that works better.

Cala Pregonda is on the north coast of Menorca, and is not accessible by road; cars can be parked behind the wetlands at Binimel'la, and there is a little bit of a walk (across a couple of headlands and bays and a striking red plane) to reach Pregonda itself. The orange-red sand and (usually) quiet atmosphere make the walk worthwhile. Since I last went, a path has been set out and the route signposted, and it was MUCH busier than on previous visits. There were also jellyfish which was a pain (esp. for my partner, who got stung several times in one nasty incident; the jellyfish got punched and certainly came off worse...).

As a birdy aside, there was a mallard on the water at Binimel'la, and I liked the way that it coped with the ripples on the water: its body moves while its head remains completely static (before & after).

Other pictures from this day can be found on Flickr (right from here).
