Dreamland
Have had a fantastic day with my friends Jo and Sioux in Margate.
Started at the Turner Contemporary where there is a new installation, Disarm by Pedro Reyes. He has made musical instruments from decommissioned weapons seized by the Mexican government. Every so often, they burst into life so the hall is filled with music. Such a wonderful thing, to make something positive out of such destructive machines.
Lunch, then to the recently re-opened Dreamland. Such fun! Nearly all of the rides are open now - only two remain closed but they should be open soon, and the whole complex will be open next Spring.
It's so impressive! We went on nearly all the rides (there were one or two that we just said no!), everyone was having a lovely time, the staff were great, and the weather was fabulous! The dodgems, the carousel, the maze, the big wheel, the kiss-me-quick, etc, etc - all great fun! We also had a go on the amusements before leaving but decided against the roller disco!
Went to dinner afterwards, to a really great - and authentic - Indian restaurant just outside Dover called Namaste. Wonderful food, and the perfect end to a perfect day!
