The house wasn't open the day we visited but the grounds and walled garden were lovely in the hot sunshine. This is the dovecote in the walled garden, with almost 1000 holes for doves. It used to supply the enormous house with squab. Nowadays, the walled garden is split into allotment size areas, taken over by local people for their own use. They are obviously dedicated, it's full of colour and beauty.
