Taking the long view ...

It was bleak in the West Bay late this afternoon. The rain had stopped and the wind dropped quite considerably, but after the sunny weather of the past week the return to gloom was disheartening. Tempted out for a brief stomp round the west of the town before dinner, I was struck by the view downriver. Look carefully and you can make out the southern end of Arran against the much brighter sky than we saw all day.

This was actually a panorama shot, curtailed to half the possible pano, so that I could get in the pleasing sweep of the shore - gloomy, but architecturally satisfying, so to speak ...
