Too much information?

Third day of mini cycling tour and getting very frustrated with overgrown , vandalised, confusing signs....but...better with them than without. We've noticed that many of the old fashioned multi location signs have disappeared or have not been replaced. Is it Sat Navs, is it me.....no answers required please.
