Hotel Bildungszentrum 21, Basel

I have to say that I have a bit of an antipathy to the idea of a hotel located within what remains the headquarters of a mission, located at Missionsstrasse 21, in Basel. I was expecting a monk like cell, crossed with a school dormitory. In fact, the rooms were great - very large, two windows, roller shutters on the windows, decent bathroom, and a large (if hard) bed. Simple unfussy furniture. And a great breakfast buffet.

I reached the hotel room after an afternoon travelling around Europe, and an evening in an eye waveringly expensive restaurant in Basel (lucky I wasn't paying).
