Appropriate, since I was in Bilbao for a Conference. Aside from features such as the Guggenheim (see extra) and the harbour (see extra), Bilbao, like many cities, is full of young people and students.

After a day spent wandering through Bilbao and then taking the metro to "the seaside" (basically, the port at Santurtzi), I had to go to the association AGM and then a reception in our hotel. We joined a group of people in a taxi up to the old town for a small group dinner in a place more distinguished by its ambience than the quality of its food (despite being heavily lauded).

A brilliant taster day of what is clearly a beautiful city, showing its colours (literally) on a bright blue day and a perfect temperature in the low 20s.
