A New Canal Garden at Polwarth Churcgh

I popped along to the opening of this lovely new garden today.  This photo shows some of the musical entertainment through the afternoon.  The violin being played in the middle is the specially crafted Wilfred Owen violin.
This violin has been made from the branch of a sycamore tree growing at the Craiglockhart Campus of Napier University.  During WW1 this building was a hospital were Wilfred Owen underwent treatment for shell- shock, it was also where he met Siegfried Sassoon who became his literary mentor.
