The Ferry Terminal

The Crinan Canal couldn't take the large boats  - like Columba  - that plied the Clyde to Loch Fyne along the Ardrishaig to Crinan canal so passengers on the big steamers caught smaller vessels such as Linnet.  Goods and passengers passed through the black doors and booked onward destinations at MacBraynes offices.  A lot of herring passed this way too.
