Cheap drill bit

Last weak we bought a drill but we didn't have bits for it. My brother bought some cheap Chinese ones and this Saturday we wanted to do some holes on a wood sticks.
Everything went fine until the bit felt loose, I stopped the drill, checked that it was well placed and started to drill again, two seconds later the wood stick moved like crazy and I stopped the drill immediately just to found that the bit was very cheap and melted.
