Chatham Island Forget me not

I love all flowers, but with my garden at the lake, which is surrounded by native bush, I have chosen to plant only native plants...well almost!
The flowers on these tend to be smaller and less showy.

Last year I planted two Chatham Island Forget me not plants, something I have never grown before and can not believe how they have thrived, growing under large native shrubs. They have already spread to almost a metre wide and now have at least 5 buds on each one...so thrilled, and will share them on blip when they are flowering which should be in the next month.

They leaves are huge and so shiny and this afternoon I loved how the sun showed up all the veins.

Woke to a rather cold morning and there was a little bit of snow on top of our mountain, it didn't last long but the weather is still cold out in the wind. Waiting for some warmer days to get the vege garden moving.
