Reasons to be cheerful
Well, Friday morning Ploughboy breakfast is back, happy days!
Friday evenings usually include badminton but the lines were being repainted at the Sports Village tonight so we had a beer and curry social instead. As I left home and stepped outside, I ditched the jumper before getting on the bike as it was such a balmy evening.
We ended up at Cafe Saffron which I haven't been to for a long time but Abdul greeted me like a long lost friend. Whether he remembered me or not it made for a very pleasant evening which was rounded off with a complimentary brandy for all.
I spotted an ex-pupil in the restaurant and we had a good chat as she left. She was actually with a classmate who I didn't recognise initially, they were in my year 8 form when I first started at SHS 10 years ago and one of them has just graduated with a law degree. I love my job.
On the way out I bumped into another pupil who has just left and we had a good chat too. Reasons to be cheerful indeed.
The only slight downer was the cycle home in the rain. I got a little damp. Perhaps I should have checked the weather forecast.
