A large bee...

...the bees love this purple flower. It is a wild flower but the stems can be delicate and the flowers are tiny but the bees love them. However what usually happens is bee and flower stem often bend down to the ground because even a small bee is too heavy for it. Some bees land on the ground with a bump when the stem snaps.

This was a very large bee. The biggest and longest bee I have seen this year. The bee positioned itself on another stronger stem and then gradually leaned over. With its front legs it managed to pull the tiny purple flowers towards itself, then it helped itself to the pollen.

I watched it for about half an hour trying to access different ones of these purple flowers but by using a stronger adjacent stem capable of supporting its weight.
