National Moth Night
The night of the National Moth Survey falls yet again in most unsuitable weather.
It must just be where we live, but it is always too wet or too cold. Tonight it is too clear and windy, although we humans have been enjoying a few last days of summer.
We were hoping to find moth migrants this week particularly the Convolvulus Hawk Moth. I was going to paint the tree trunks with sugared alcohol to suck up - the moths not me!
But it is too windy for them to track it down.
So we are resorting to the light trap and will see what there is in the morning. You never know....
