Bug

A full day...beautiful sunshine outside, lots of people to see (workwise), a professional peer support group meet up in Norwich then home...sun still shining. The wasps nest that I nuked last night is looking inactive. Probably I am glad but I also feel bad...I spent a while watching the wasps and feel quite a lot of compassion for them, I noticed how they approached along certain flight paths, how they chew up the wood of my sheds and benches to build their nests...you can't help feeling empathy for things you spent time watching....but then I read about them, that they produce hundreds of queens...and they seem to be everywhere around the house. So in the end I dressed up in a home made beekeepers hat and head to toe cover and gave the nests a shot of something chemical that looked like shaving foam....
So that is a strange expression of empathy....let's hope it has not attracted too much negative karma, I don't like destroying things but I guess I have my limits.

Only a few moments for a blip so I saw this bug - maybe a species of crane fly? - sleeping on the wall...

Out for supper with good friends tonight. Wishing you all a good weekend.
