Beautiful Blue Sky

Up at 3.30 this morning to catch the early Easyjet flight from Edinburgh to Lisbon. Time for a quick coffee and croissant in Nero and sandwich buying in Boots (they don't ask for your boarding pass now!). Two hours and 40 mins later we were in Lisbon! The airport is in the city so great views coming in to land.

Picked up the hire car and 5 mins later we were driving over the river Tagus over the fabulous Vasco da Gama bridge heading to Alenjeto Region. A two and a bit hours drive away mostly down the toll road.

Arrived in Vila Nova de Milfontes, a little town by the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Our Bed and breakfast is in a big old Portuguese house with a courtyard in the middle with a tree for shade. It's beautiful. We walked along the sand listening to the roar of the waves crashing on the shore. there was also the smell of fish cooking on a BBQ at a nearby restaurant. Best bit though was all this scene was bathed in sunshine. A very pleasant 23 degrees. I've missed this .

Early night - quick meal and bed by 10. Shattered!
