Abandoned Country Store

I am sure there were times when tales were told around a stove, candy was consumed by children, and people saw this store as a center to meet their needs for consumable goods and for catching up with news among or about other community members.  Now it offers silent, disintegrating testimony to better days.  It is in rural upstate (northwest) part of South Carolina.  We passed as part of a 5 hour trip (one way) to a beautiful memorial service for the mother of a very dear friend.  The bars on the windows say its closure wasn't as long ago as it looks.  There was a time in our fairly recent history that bars would have been offensive rather than necessary.
