Ideas needed!

The last corner to be finished in my new old room.
Still thinking how to cover up this ugly box above the window - it contains the wooden shutters.
It will have to be curtains somehow.
But I don't want a curtain-rod on the ceiling and I can't make up my mind.
I should follow the advice of my favorite saying. It arrived yesterday and is now attached to the wall above the desk: "Your head is round so your thoughts can change direction" (better translations very welcome).
