Lots of baby birds- starling.

There seems to be lots of baby birds around at the moment. Not surprising really. Quite a few look very unkempt as they loose their downy feathers and grow some proper ones. The starlings are the exception- they are very sleek. View in large to see every individual feather. Although they are babies they can still be a bit menacing like this one. There is a bit of competition for the favourite feeder and I was surprised to see a small baby goldfinch see off an adult chaffinch that was much bigger than it.

I am not sure when these very brown feathers will be replaced with the metallic green/black ones. I almost did a collage of all the babies.
