Sababurg Castle
Awaking today brought me a world covered in grey mist. So my walking exercise started with focussing on the visible nearby and the invisible at a distance. Downtown at the Weserbridge I discovered the invisble nearby: miriads of silver webs between the railing. Enriched with very fine drops. Unfortunately the sun was still completely hinding somewhere in the mist. The pearly effect remained darkened. This asks for a comeback in the weeks to come.
Rather quickly in the course of the morning the mist vanished completely. The sky turned blue, eventually cloudy. So W. proposed to take our chances and drive to the Reinhardswald and visit the Sababurg Tierpark. Indeed this very old estate is more a park or reserve with many open spaces and crossways. The wildlife has their own spacious areas, fenced in of course. But there is variation in accessibility and approacability for the visitors.
If you want to see all there is,you should prepare yourself for a real long distance walk, which could last at least some hours. We spend there half a day in that wonderful domain. A splendid sunny day. Until we got really tired. May I refer you to Admirer’s Journal? She will show you a sea eagle in full flight. Next time I will tell you more on the Tree of Life in this Garden of Eden. There are age-old oaks everywhere, surviving the centuries. Primeaval Forest, open woodland, dead oaks, fallen down, laying around like prehistoric animals. And there on top of the mountain: the old fairy castle, partly ruined, partly restaured, like all of us.
