Copper!

A big Thank You to Picture Poems for a great tip about the Parys Mountain Copper Mine trail. It was the perfect activity for today. We were both feeling the pace after a busy schedule and wanted to slow it down a bit today. I left my big camera and lenses at home in order to travel lighter. The walk was just about the right length for us, and the scenery was, to say the least, a bit different. The mountain has had a very long history as a copper mine, which has left a strange but colourful landscape. This was augmented today by the large areas of Heather in bloom. Another sunny day showed the area to best effect too and there was no shortage of birds - more Stonechat, flocks of Swallow and Linnet, Chough, Raven, Buzzard and Kestrel. Butterflies too, mainly Small Tortoiseshell but a very nice Painted Lady was a pleasing sight.
