St John the Baptist, Yeovil
N and I drove to Yeovil this morning. The roads have been in chaos surrounding the town because one of the main roads is closed for three months! We sneaked round the back and arrived at a vitually empty carpark with no trouble! It was wonderful to get to the hairdresser and gets one's hair cut after so long and N went shopping.
St John's Church is a Grade I listed building built in the late 14th C. It stands in the middle of the town and provides a welcome peaceful oasis and an open space where people sprawl on the grass and benches. There are beehives in the flowerbeds, whether there are any bees inside them is debatable but they are surrounded with flowers. The church windows are large and brightly coloured and there is one with Judas Iscariot depicted with a black halo which is quite unusual.
I think I have now caught up!
