The Beautiful Enemy
It's so nice that the evenings are drawing out as we speed towards Daylight Saving, especially as it mean that I can head over into Dennistoun Bush after work.
Just into the bush there's a small clearing that's the result of canopy and tree loss due to the snow we had back in June. Sadly, some of the broken fuchsia are coming under attack from Old Man's Beard.
This is the first time I've photographed the virilent pest plant close-up; it's achingly beautiful, the feathery whiskers of the 'beard' so soft and delicate.
Fighting this pest is not an easy task though; whilst it appears fragile, it's a hardy beast that takes hold and slowly strangles the bush.
