How did it take me so long to work this out?

When Matthew is the garden he eats stones, when I leave the patio door open he tries to crawl out...when I need to cook dinner I can't leave all 3 in the same room but I also can't have Matthew in the kitchen (if he even wanted to stay). The simple solution of a bench in front of the patio door keeps everyone a bit safer and happier!
