Curdworth
We set off this morning intending to get rather further than we have. We rose up through 11 locks with relative ease, thanks in part to the volunteers from the Canal and River Trust.
However, these volunteers also advised us against mooring up within the Birmingham area, unless we were to get all the way to the centre - and that was just not feasible, involving another 24 locks (each lock can take about 20 mins to get through!) There have been issues with vandalism to the boats, apparently.
Instead, we had a short day, moored up at Curdworth on a lovely stretch of the canal, read for several hours, and then a meal at a local pub this evening. Even better, the internet signal is excellent!
We're now planning an early start to the day tomorrow, as we want to get right through Birmingham centre, and moor up near the Botanic Gardens, so we can visit them the following morning.
