Gently down the stream

Fireweed

I love the seeds of rosebay willow herb and really wanted to get them in my journal this autumn.  They come in these long pods and open as grey fluff like ash - no wonder their country name is fireweed!  These, you can see, are just on the point of opening and turning themselves inside out to let the fluff escape on the wind.

A day of cloud and much more sun than promised.  Once again I was busy, but this rather wonderful view is not far from a bus stop, so lucky me!  To get this shot I had to stand on a frankly rather oddly placed convenient wooden seat that I nearly fell off.  My favourite part of the distant landscape is that funny blobby little row of trees..

Singing tonight, as choir reconvenes after the summer.  By next week we will no doubt be singing Christmas carols.  Crikey, you chaps!!

Have a happy evening  xx
