Japonica

Japonica is one flowering shrub that I remember as a child. We had a large garden in Christchurch and it was filled with old-fashioned treasures. I well remember the Japonica bursting into flower every spring. We had apricot, pink and red varieties growing in the garden. I always feel it is a rather elegant plant with a Japanese feel about it. So seeing this cream Japonica growing over someone's fence along the road this morning took me right back to my childhood garden.
