Sausages

I was back at work today after a day of elevating my sore knees. I was a bit slow on the pins but I survived the day (knees now aching)
Tuatapere is famous in ... Well Tuatapere for their sausages. We even have a mural to remind us! Anyways the local butcher who won the award is long gone and the accolade long gone too. The community however haven't left it behind and so have been asking the local 4Sq chap to create some more. He suggested the school run a competition to create a new flavour. We thought it was a great idea and so our year 7-10's are all doing a unit on making and marketing. Today the local 4Sq chap (who is a butcher by trade) and one of his suppliers came into school to show the kids the process. They were absolutely fascinated. I wish I could show a photo of their faces!
These sausages were lamb and mint, at home tonight I have for version and chilli sausages for tea. Wonder what flavours the kids will come up with?
