Childish things (No. 2 in a series)

I wonder how long Tania held on to her "childish things"? Did they serve her well? Did she make good use of her own particular genius? And what of the artist/author? Did he perhaps fear that he was one of the juvenile attachments which might be dispensed with in the months ahead? Regardless, theirs is one of the earliest of the hundreds of tagged stones in the Lake Michigan breakwater at Northwestern and thus, it appears, they helped establish a childish thing capable of enduring for many years.
