Large oaks...

I picked up these Bur/Burr oak (also known as mossycup oak) acorns tonight while out walking my dog. The two really fuzzy ones were from one tree and the less fuzzy one was from a different tree. I'd not realized quite how much variation there is.

I love the variety of oak trees in my neighborhood. They keep both the squirrels and the homeowners very busy when fall arrives!
