Kilt rock
The northern part of the isle of Skye is composed of layers of lava flows, formed into vertical basalt columns that have been cut by the sea forming cliffs.
Stiff and sore after our previous day's exertions, we could just about make it out of the car to the viewpoint at Kilt rock to gaze at the waterfall before heading off the island for the first stage of the long drive south.
