It had to be done...

All my friends' children are back to school and the summer holidays are over. It's a new term, start of a new season and time to knuckle down and get some serious work done...not that I did the holiday bit mind you!

As I left the office in fading light and arrived home in the dark, wearing a pashmina to keep my neck warm, I thought to myself that autumn is here.

The lights of the village off licence 'The Cellar' lured me in and I snapped up the last bar of chocolate. I felt as lucky as Charlie when he found his golden ticket. That reminds me...I must dig out my old Roald Dahl books from my parents' attic.

Autumn is an excuse to snuggle up with a good book, warm cup of tea and eat chocolate (sometimes). Yes, I know I said that yesterday but short of a holiday it's the best escape I can get right now.
